Web Developer Intern

Happy Medium, an honest, full-service marketing agency based in Des Moines, is seeking a creative person that is interested in seeking a paid web development internship for the 2017 – 2018 school year. The position will start August, 28th 2017.
The development intern’s primary responsibility will be to work with the Happy Medium team to maintain existing client sites, build functioning high-fidelity web-based site mockups and create great code from the ground up for new client web projects. Working primarily in a custom theming WordPress environment, this position will allow the right candidate to grow their skills in everything from CMS integrations and plugin development to server deployment process. This position will have the opportunity to work, interact and learn from nearly everyone in the company.
- Proficiency CSS and HTML
- Experience with installing or configuring a popular CMS such as WordPress
- Experience in or a desire to learn PHP
- Experience in or a desire to learn compiled CSS languages such as SASS
- Strong organizational skills
- Willingness to accept and give constructive criticism
Current college students or recent graduates with computer science or coding backgrounds preferred, but we lean heavily on enthusiasm, curiosity and entrepreneurial candidates as well.
Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week. Must be able to work at least three days, dependent on production schedule to ensure continuity for an ideal learning experience.
